Partial Evaluation

A partial evaluation is focused on the assessment of a particular academic issue or problematic behavior. It includes collection of current parent and teacher behavior ratings, review of school records, and a detailed developmental history. Tests specific to the defined issue are administered.

Examples:

► Assessment of reading skills to measure progress and identify ways of improving the current interventions.
► A targeted assessment of attention deficit/executive function because of in-class behavioral problems and/or home-based problems. This evaluation may include assessment of emotional issues.
► Neuropsychological testing, exclusive of educational or personality testing, to assess the brain-related skills that may contribute to an educational deficit.
► Personality assessment to understand behavioral or emotional symptoms.
► When there is an evaluation done elsewhere, provision of supplemental testing to clarify the results and provide more detailed recommendations.
